Last Friday, June 8th, 2007, at the campground with Mert & Jo, Gene, Kevin Wiebe, my folks and I. Kevin managed to pry Mark's old bike out of the shed and brought that to ride around before supper. The food was delicious--hot dogs, burgers, sliced potatoes, pork-n-beans and the like. Then Jo and Ryan went fishing. There was this little plane that kept flying overhead so many times that it had to be a student pilot practicing takeoffs and landings or something. Jo caught one fish, but threw him back. There was a troupe of Girl Scouts there just before us who must've caught everything else in the water--they were catching 'em like crazy! I had the camera and it was a beautiful day (as you can see) so I decided to take some pictures. Then, of course, were the s'mores. Too bad Mark and Mert ate half the chocolate while the rest of us were busy fishing and photographing! Mom forgot how to make s'mores and tried to put the chocolate and graham cracker on before roasting the marshmallows. That was funny! All in all, a very fun evening.
I made the slideshow with Andrew Peterson's "Queen Of Iowa" as background music. They have little to do with each other, except for Iowa, but it's a neat little song about an Iowa woman that went well with the photos. Actually, I just looked up the real story behind the song and it's amazing--I'll post it in a bit. I used a Sony DSC-F717 to take the pictures and iPhoto, Photoshop (just for the title), and iDVD to put the whole thing together. It looks better on the DVD than it does here.
